About
Best Music of All Time is a newsletter for music obsessives, written by one. It used to be called Daily Music Picks.
I was the kid who stayed up late with a semi-busted CD player and after-hours radio shows, the ones playing the deeper, weirder cuts. I became a DJ in my teens and a full-time radio host before I was 25. My idea of a good weekend afternoon is still thumbing through record store bins. The collection runs past 150,000 songs if you count every digital file I've hoarded along the way.
What's here
334 pieces going back to 2023.Album reviews and song reviews, one record or one track at a time, each with the streaming links you need.Lists built around a genre, an era or a theme.Rankings that walk an artist's entire studio discography from worst to best.
What I don't do
I don't score anything. No ratings, no thumbs up or down. Other places do that well and you know where to find them.
I don't write hit pieces either. No "overrated" lists, no "worst of" roundups, nothing built around telling you what to avoid. Everything here is music I think is good, and usually a lot better than good. I don't spend words on records I find mediocre.
It's free
Every post is free and I plan to keep it that way. I ran a paid tier briefly in an earlier version of this newsletter and dropped it, because I didn't want anything sitting between you and a record you hadn't heard yet.
If you want to support the work anyway, there'sa donation page. No obligation, and nothing here is gated either way.
